Title and Origin
The Collected Papers of Sigmund Freud
Edited and published under the auspices of The Institute of Psychoanalysis and issued by The Hogarth Press, London.
This set represents one of the earliest comprehensive English translations of Freud’s shorter works, papers, and essays—many of which were not included in his major books. The papers were translated primarily by Joan Riviere and James Strachey, who later oversaw the monumental Standard Edition of the Complete Psychological Works of Sigmund Freud (also by Hogarth Press).
